Sometimes when I swim, I get a plugged ear for days and it can be very painful and disorienting, and even a bit nauseating. When I use the ear candles, a lot pressure is relieved, most of the pain is relieved, and it seems like it actually helps getting some of the water out that has been blocked by and soaked into earwax. I don't think the material at the bottom of the candle is all earwax, if any, but I do end up with a clearer ear that then clears up quickly after the ear candling. I think it helps soften the wax so it can drain, or it helps open the ear tubes so the wax can be moved.
Maybe some ends up in the candle, but I am not so sure about that. I will continue to do ear candling. Also, for inner ear infections, I use garlic
oil- it gets rid of the infection and pain within two days- no antibiotics (haven't taken them since age 4, and now am 36), so no effects of antibiotics like diarrhea and setting the body up for yeast infections (candida).
Thank you Jason for your comment.

Especially in a world that is flooded by pills of one kind or another it is nice to know that there are still methods available as an alternative way to help the body heal itself. You are right that the substance left in the candle is NOT ear wax, it is merely residue from the candle itself which is why we recommend using a candle with a filter. Keep candling and remember to share this experience with friends, they will thank you for it.

I found the information on this sit very helpful. I have heard a lot of stuff about ear candling and it's nice to see some information that isn't trying to blow the benefits out of proportion. Thank you.
Thank you Kimberly, I appreciate your submission.

I have seen many sites that give either completely bogus information or exaggerate the facts. That drives me crazy. There are two things I hate most in this world, a liar and a thief. For a company that makes ear candles to say that they suck ear wax out of your ears is just ridiculous. I started this site to give people that are curious the truth. I also wanted a place to share experiences and to hear from people that think like I do so I am grateful for your comments.
